KONSORTIUM BUMI CONSULTANTS AND SERVICES SDN BHD (KBCS) is a multi-disciplined consultant firm and ISO certified. It was established in July 2006 in Kuching, Sarawak and provides Architectural ,Civil & Structural and Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Consultancy Services.KBCS is registered with the Ministry Of Finance (MOF), Board Of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Unit Pendaftaran Kontraktor and Juruperunding (UPKJ), Board Of Architect Malaysia(BAM), SME Corporation Malaysia (SME), Telekom Malaysia (TM), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Perbadanan PRIMA Malaysia (PRIMA), Petroleum Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), SHELL, Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), State Planning Authority (SPA), Natural Resources Environment Board (NREB), Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), and finally with TERAJU as Syarikat Bumiputera Berprestasi Tinggi (TERAS).

The founding partners and core group of KBCS are involved extensively in the fields of project investigation, feasibility studies, conceptual designs, details designs, contract administration, and construction supervision, as well as the testing and commissioning of various projects such as offices, high rise commercial buildings, cultural as well as religious buildings and infrastructures. In the line with the company's vision, KBCS strives to continuously pursue the quest for quality and excellence, through synergistic teamwork and simultaneosly achieving efficiency, functionality and innovation in design, construction and maintenance.

As a company, KBCS takes pride in its strong in-house technical expertise, which concentrates on providing innovative engineering solutions. It is supported by qualified engineers, senior designers, draftsman and draftswoman with vast experiences in Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering works in infrastructure, industrial and building projects. The company adopts a team approach in its project design, where the Client is an integral part of the team. Its design objective is to strike optimum balance between functionality, economy and aesthetics, through the utilization of modern engineering materials and design tools. Conscious of the need to keep abreast with new engineering technologies and developments worldwide, KBCS involves technical specialists in its project team when the need arises, to ensure design economical and effective for project implementation.

The Managing Director, Dato’ Ir. Janang was awarded the Usahawan Bumiputera Berjaya (Professional) Award by the former Chief Minister of Sarawak, the late YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr.) Haji Adenan Bin Haji Satem in 2015. In 2018, he received the Sarawak State Entrepeneur Of The Year Award 2018. In the same year, Dato’ Ir. Janang Bungsu was conferred the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (P.S.B.S) award by Tuan Yang Terutama Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud.

The company was given MS ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2013 and through continuous effort and cooperation among the management and staffs, KBCS was awarded the latest Quality Management System MS ISO 9001:2015 in December 2016. In terms of awards, KBCS won the bronze medal of Engineering award by the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) in 2017, followed by the Silver award for the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Award 2017 (CMIEA). In 2018, KBCS received another award which is the 8 th Sarawak Chief Minister’s Environmental Award (CMEA) 2017/2018.

As part of KBCS’ expansion plan, a new Oil & Gas Engineering team was launched on 10 th March 2018 in Miri, Sarawak. The team consists of engineers with a full range engineering capability, led by the Engineering Manager. In addition to that, KBCS expanded its Quantity Surveying consultancy services, by opening a subsidiary named Perunding Ukur Bahan PS.

Touching on KBCS’ plan for the near future, Dato’ Ir. Janang expresses hope that all KBCS’ subsidiary companies will flourish and continue to scale greater heights. With the formation of PETROS, KBCS hopes to be included as one of the main players in the oil and gas industry in Sarawak. He added that subsequently, KBCS wishes to spread its involvement beyond the Sarawak shore and expands globally. Among his many hopes is to see the firm listed on the KLSE board.
